Vineyards

Estate vines dating back to 1986

Our winery is nestled on 16 acres of estate vineyard in Lake Country, British Columbia. Initial plantings of Bacchus date back to 1986, and subsequent plantings of Zweigelt, Merlot, Pinot Gris and Vidal were added between 1998 and 2000. Plantings of Pinot Noir and the Swiss white variety Petite Arvine were added between 2016 and 2018. Most of the Arrowleaf estate vineyard is situated on a westerly slope and consists of well drained, gravelly glacial till and sandy loam soil. The west-facing slope and proximity to the lake give the vineyard a moderate climate with a long frost-free period, allowing the grapes to mature on the vines until late October.

Local Growers
In addition to the fruit from our estate vineyards, we source grapes from dedicated growers in our area.

Ritchie Vineyard

This newly established vineyard, located just south of Okanagan Centre, is owned by Mike and Deborah Ritchie. Like our home vineyard, it has a steep, westerly slope with coarse, well-drained soils. It is planted with Pinot Noir, Zweigelt, Pinot Gris, Gewürztraminer and Riesling. We work with Mike in the day to day operation of the vineyard, making it an ideal partnership for the production of premium grapes.

Carr's Landing Vineyards

Carr's Landing, situated just north of Okanagan Centre, is another community within the District of Lake Country. It sits on the slopes of Okanagan Lake and enjoys a south-westerly aspect, making it slightly warmer than Okanagan Centre. The soils here are heavier with more clay content, making this area well suited to the Pinot varieties. We source grapes from three vineyards planted to Pinot Noir and Pinot Gris, the largest being Wendell Orchards.

Kelowna Vineyards

We purchase grapes from growers in East Kelowna and across the lake in West Kelowna. The various sites, from warm to cool, produce grapes with distinct characteristics that feature prominently in our blended wines.
