Field Collection White 2023

CA$22.10

Release Date: April 19, 2024

What it is
The 2023 Field Collection is an aromatic blend of Riesling, Pinot Gris, Gewürztraminer & Bacchus.

Where it was grown
Vineyards throughout the Lake Country sub-GI of the Okanagan Valley

When it was grown
The 2023 growing season brought extreme weather and a small crop of grapes. It started in December of 2022 when an outbreak of arctic air damaged many of the fruitful buds on our grapevines. Spring was cool and dry and then summer arrived to deliver one of the hottest and driest growing seasons on record. A few vines collapsed in the heat while most set a small crop of concentrated grapes. Ripening sped along through August and our entire harvest was condensed into the month of September. October was unusually quiet in the vineyard and winery. We enjoyed the downtime during the beautiful fall days, hoping for a mild winter ahead.

How it was made
We assembled a blend of varieties sourced from multiple locations with the goal of creating a wine that is showy and fruit-forward but also versatile and food-friendly. Riesling provides acidity and freshness; Gewurztraminer and Bacchus add perfumed aromatics while Pinot Gris adds body and texture.

How it tastes
Akin to a tropical fruit salad, this aromatic blend shows loads of pineapple and lychee, as well as peach and lemon. On the palate it is rich and off-dry with a lemon custard-like finish. Ideal on its own, as an aperitif or with light, summer meals. 🌱 Vegan Wine
